And yes, that includes people starting with zero fitness. She will work with you to achieve goals, whether your goal is to get out of the house and do a gentle Nordic Walk or you are training do to long intense walks and take your fitness to the next level.

After your lesson, you can join Jill’s guided Nordic Walking group walks

This is where it gets fun and social. There are two group walks per week. During each group walk, Jill focuses on a different part of Nordic Walking technique. The emphasis on these group walks is to have fun. Jill has a “no one gets left behind” policy, so that even absolute beginners can feel comfortable and enjoy themselves.

You don’t have to make a long term commitment like you do with a gym. Just come along when you can and pay as you go. So far everyone Jill has introduced to Nordic Walking loves it.

Nordic Walking health benefits

  • You burn more calories than regular walking.
  • Pressure is taken off your joints, so it’s much gentler on your body than normal walking.
  • Nording Walking is a total body workout – using the poles engages muscles in your arms, back and shoulders.
  • You are in control of how intense your workout is, so you’ll be able to enjoy the group walks regardless of your fitness level.
  • It’s fun! We all know we’re more likely to stick with something we enjoy.
  • It’s social. There is so much evidence to show how social connections are good for mental health.
